IT'S DISTRICT WEEK!! The girls host Timberlake on Tuesday and travel to St. Maries on Thursday to finish the regular season and the District tournament is at Priest River. Waiting for the brackets to come out to see what time our girls teams will play but it should be a great day of basketball. GO WILDCATS!

Every day in school matters. When students are present consistently, they build stronger learning habits, stay connected to their teachers and peers, and are better set up for academic success.
We know mornings can be busy and schedules can be full, but showing up—even on the hard days—adds up in powerful ways. Thank you to our students, families, and staff for continuing to make attendance a priority and helping our students stay on track. Let’s keep the momentum going! 📚#everydaycounts

🎉 Short week, strong attendance! 🎉
With no school on Monday for MLK Day, our students still showed up in a big way and rocked their attendance this week. Way to stay engaged, stay consistent, and make every day count—even on a shortened schedule. We’re proud of you! 👏📚 #everydaycounts

Cold and flu season is here, and staying healthy helps students be present, engaged, and ready to learn. A few simple habits can make a big difference:
🧼 Wash hands often
🚰 Don’t share water bottles
😴 Get a good night’s sleep
🥗 Eat well and stay hydrated

When students take care of themselves, they’re better able to make every day count. Thank you to our families and staff for helping keep our schools healthy and our students learning!

❄️ Ski Club Season is Off to a Great Start! ⛷️🏂

This week, Kellogg Middle School 6th and 7th graders kicked off Ski Club with a trip to Silver Mountain for ski and snowboard lessons and a full day on the slopes. Having a world-class ski resort quite literally right out our back door is an incredible opportunity for our students—and one we don’t take for granted.

We’re especially thankful for our continued partnership with Silver Mountain, which helps make this unique and affordable experience possible for KMS students. Programs like Ski Club build confidence, encourage healthy activity, and create memories our students will carry with them for years.

🤞 Here’s hoping for more snow so our 8th graders can join in the fun next week and keep the season rolling!

Greetings,

It is that time of year, we are beginning the preparations for our 8th grade promotion. At this time we are collecting pictures for the slideshow presentation that will be shown during the ceremony. Each 8th grade student is asked to provide up to 4 pictures of you and your child's choosing. These can be baby, childhood or present or any combination of those. Please email your pictures to jamie.shorey@kelloggschools.org. Pictures are due by 4/30/26. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have.

Thank you,
Jamie Shorey
