6 men and a student pose with a donation check

The Kellogg High School welding program received a major boost this month thanks to the generosity of Sunshine Mine. The local mining company donated $8,000 to support improvements in the welding shop and the purchase of new welders, helping expand Career Technical Education (CTE) opportunities for our students. Welding teacher Cory North and student Aiden Figueroa accepted the donation on behalf of the program, alongside Levi Prince, Travis Carney, John Wagner, Bob Malloy and Guy Wadsworth, representatives from Sunshine Mine.

This gift represents more than equipment — it’s an investment in the future of our students and in the growth of career pathways here in our rural community. Special thanks go to Sarah Frohlich, Controller at Sunshine Mine, for her role in making this possible.

The Kellogg School District is deeply grateful for this partnership and the community spirit shown by Sunshine Mine. Together, we are opening doors for students to learn valuable skills that will serve them well into the future.
