📚 Why It Matters
State funding provides for 58.87 teachers in KSD — but to keep class sizes smaller and offer electives, fine arts, and specialized instruction, supplemental levy dollars fund an additional 10.8 teachers.

The Nov. 4th supplemental levy will replace the current levy that maintains these programs, class sizes, and opportunities for all KSD students.

The Nov. 4th supplemental levy will replace the current levy that helps maintain programs, class sizes, and opportunities for all KSD students — while also bringing property tax relief to local taxpayers.

Because of changes in state funding (HB 292) and the early payoff of the district’s bond, the anticipated levy rate is expected to decrease to about $184.76 per $100,000 of taxable property value — approximately $29.61 less than the current rate.

An increased levy amount with a decreased tax rate means we can continue supporting the essential programs and staff that make a difference for our students, while easing the local tax burden.

Learn more in the example shown below — and remember to vote on November 4! 💜💛 For more information, visit: https://www.kelloggschools.org/page/supplemental-levy-election-information

An Exciting Day at Pinehurst Elementary!

Today marks a very special day at Pinehurst Elementary. At 5 PM, we’ll cut the ribbon to officially “open” the new playground! While students have been enjoying it daily since the first week of school, this ceremony gives us the opportunity to recognize the many individuals and organizations who made this project a reality.

Our sincere thanks to:
Alta Science & Engineering – Felicia Cassidy & Brennan Steele
Idaho Department of Environmental Quality – Andy Helkey
Stewart Contracting – Greg Stewart
Pinehurst Elementary PTA – Sarah Mason
EPA – CDA Basin Cleanup

This project has been years in the making, and seeing hundreds of students enjoy it each day brings immense satisfaction to everyone who contributed. More than just a playground, this space is a true centerpiece of the Pinehurst community.
Pinehurst Elementary sits right in the heart of town, and its grounds are a gathering place year round. Home to baseball games, family fun nights, youth basketball, and much more. On weekends, you’ll often find families shooting hoops, playing catch, or sharing a moment on the swings. This playground is not only a gift to today’s students, but also a lasting symbol of community pride and investment in future generations.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in bringing this project to life and invite the community to continue supporting those who work hard to make great things happen for our schools and our community.

We also congratulate our Boys Cross Country Team and Coach Smith for their District Championship!
It’s a great day to be a Wildcat! 🐾
